Sorry the site has been a bit quiet lately — I’ve been through some upheaval personally but will be back and posting soon!
The weather during my trip to Sweden was, well…wintry. Not very surprising, given I was there at the beginning of January! My day in Stockholm was very rainy and around freezing, but that didn’t stop my friend Petrine and I from spending most of the day outside (in our very thick and not-very-waterproof coats). We wandered through the cobbled streets and alleys of Gamla Stan, Stockholm’s old town, before heading along the waterfront to the Moderna Museet, which offered us a warm refuge (and importantly, some lovely hot chocolate) in which to hide while the rain turned into a wintry mix outside.
Going back to see Petrine is plenty of motivation to try to add Stockholm to my next Swedish itinerary, but this view certainly helps. I’d love to see it on a crisp spring day with a bit of blue sky above…or maybe with the water frozen and snow peppering the buildings. Hmm…it seems like I’ll need to go back a few times!
Here are a few other shots from around Stockholm:
